Brian Barnett
1934 - 2010

PFM Mat Doctor and National Conference instructor Brian Barnett lost his battle with cancer on the evening of August 25 while in the company of his wife and three daughters. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on July 28, 1934, Brian resided outside of Atlanta, GA.
Brian, an industrial designer by profession, spent 25 years in custom framing sales, product and graphic design, merchandising, operations, production control, and financial management. He appeared in training videos, authored numerous training manuals and magazine articles, and taught at educational venues, including numerous classes at The National Conference.
He spent many years working for Larson-Juhl. He was originally hired as the company's national accounts manager in 1982. After retiring in 1999, he continued to work as a consultant with the company and in the industry on special projects and education. He also consulted for The Fletcher-Terry Co. and contracted for special projects with large industry retailers.
Brian was an industry advocate, visionary, inventor, and educator and worked with many of the industry's leading figures. Steve McKenzie, president and CEO of Larson-Juhl, says, “Brian Barnett was my first contact at Larson-Juhl and a big reason I work here today. He was more than a colleague; he was a mentor and a dear friend. I was able to visit with Brian recently and his humor and incredible positive attitude were present until the end.”
Brian is survived by wife Maddie; daughters Tracy Rolle, Michelle Ciletti, and Linda Moore; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
