I have 2 prints, thrown away by an Aunt, one signed Fred Morgan, called "Queen Alexandria, her grandchildren and dogs",copyright 1902 by CW Faulkner and Co,LOndon,EC{?} England,Printed in England. It is in excellent shape in its original frame and glass. The other one is by Arthur G/J{?} Elsley called"Home Again",coptright 1910. It is without glass and is slightly browned with minor creasing, but still very nice. Both of these are marked as supplements to The Family Herald and Weekly Star, Montreal, Canada. Can anyone tell me more about these, and any possible value or market? Thank you Catherine Anderson

I have a print, that has supplement to the family herald and weekly star, printed in the bottom left corner. The print has two young girls, one younger than the other.
The print is called "ALONE" behind this print. I found a montreal newspaper dated
1904, I would very much like to know more about this print if anyone could help.

I too, have the same Queen Alexandra, her Grandchildren and dogs and it is copywrighted according to the Act of Congress at Washington in the year 1902 by C.W. Faulkner & Co. London, E.C. England, Printed in England written in the top right hand corner with Fred Morgan''s signature on the left bottom corner and a watermark on the right bottom corner. It also states that this is a supplement to the Family Herald and Weekly Star, Montreal, Can.
It is in EXCELLENT shape with a beautiful frame which needs some repair. Should anyone be interested, please do not hesitate to reply to me. |

Hi Catherine,
Arthur Elsley was a very prolific artist during the mid to late Victorian period, who specialised in pictures containing children and animals. In general the subjects of his paintings were his own children and the family pets. Hope this helps, Mark |
