I have a print from the July 31, 1889 supplement to the Family Herald Weekly Star titled "Queen of the Garden"(red roses). I am uncertain of the artist''s name:the signature on the painting M. B "y"or"r" ? w 71.
This print was displayed in my maternal grandparents home in Stanley NB for as long as I can remember and has been in my possession for the last 10 years. Can anyone provide me with information about the original painting and the artist?

Hello. I found a posting of a question you had about the print "Queen of the garden" red roses. I think I have the same print. It was in my maternal grandmothers house as well. I now have it and have had it for about 11 years. The only information I have on it is that it was done by M. Brown. I have no date on it and it is very dark in nature. I LOVE this picture more then anything in my home. It was hung in my grandmother''s kitchen then in my mothers kitchen when I was a child. Now that my grandmother is gone I have gotten the print. I want to restore it and have it framed in a better frame. I am also looking to find out anything about it. Have you found out anything since your posting? I would love to hear more about your print as well. to see if they are the same or not.
Thank you so much for your time. Hope to hear from you soon.
Michelle.
