I have found that the personal touch that encourages repeat business and referals works best for my advertisisng dollars, When someone new walks through your door, upon completion of the job, immediately send them a thank you card and invite them back. Cold calling other businesses works but it requires more effort over a longer period of time. Make a first time visit very informally and speak directly with the person who makes the decisions. Don''t push too hard on the first visit. Just introduce yourself and exchange business cards. Immediately after the visit send a thank you card to the person you talked with. Develope relationships with the intermediary people too sometimes decisions are delelgated to them. Most of all offer en excellent product and keep your prices competitive. Be consistant in your efforts and anticipate that once you set up your marketing culture that you will have to persue it for the duration of you business. Don''t be afraid to experiment to find out what works for you and your particular market. What ever you do, do it enthusiastically. Best of luck. Will
