Is there anyone besides the Chicago company providing Decorative ornamentation, that knows of a fast creative source for compo corner ornaments in specific and custom shapes? I have a project that requires a tulip shape ornament applique for each corner face. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. I have considered mixing a batch and creating my own, but the labor involved would be cost prohibitive.
Thanks ahead of time.

An easy way to make a mold is to use the gunk the dentist uses to make a mold of your teeth. Alginate. You dentist may even sell you some. He''s probably got some old brand he used to use in his cabinet.
When I''m repair an old frame, rather than go through days and days of makeing a mold and a back up from a good conner I use the alginate. YOur''s got a mold in 60 seconds and I sometimes cast from Bondo (sets up in seconds) Put it in place while wet, wait a few minutes and pull off the mold. Tough up, press trime, whatever, while it is still wet. You may need to do some filling and sanding but is workable for a while.
The mold needs to be used and then thrown away because as it dries it shrinks and does strange things. But I can do all my casting for all the areas withing 30 minutes usually and then I just have to paint stain, antique, gold leaf or whatever.

I like it better than the way I was taught.
It will take some practice. You can cast from any hard surface. You can email me if you have other questions. I also have several cans of alginate, but it''s faily expensive.
