I do a ruling pen lines on almost every mat I do. I use Mat magic inks that you can get form Larson Juhl along with their ruling pen. If you have problems with the pen, bend it shape it play with it until you get it right. Generaly they work perfectly the first time, and mat magic is designed to do just what you are looking for. Good luck |

I use watercolor on best quality rag board, Rising Museum rag board or Canson conservation or museum board. Get best quality ruling pens. I have a set that was used by an aeronautical engineer. They are quite old and very beautiful and work as new. When I need to do gold lines I use Liquitex gold "ink" not paint in the tube. Thin it and stir it often. Use best quality sable brushes if you are doing color panels. I use distilled water too. |
