I am new to picture framing. I am having a problem when framing with hard woods (like oak. Sometimes the framing points will not go in - they bend or curl. I have asked my supplier if there are different points for hard woods and they said no. I have also tried to adjust the point driver but same results. Anyone able to tell me what I am doing wrong or what I should be doing right? Thanks.

Sound like you might be using a flex point. If you are go to a Fletcher Multimaster, shots a different type of point. It has two small points with barbs and works very good in oak. I just purchase one, it works great and it also works better the the hard point driver in oak, ash.
