I have a customer that would like me to frame some magazine cartoons from World War II. She would like to have them floating on a white mat board and I do not know the best way to secure cartoon to mat board. I also do not know if the glass should be in direct contact with the cartoon. I do not want the ink transfering from the cartoon to the glass. I would appreicate any help. Thanks! |

And use UV filtering acrylic or UV filtering glass, not standard glass. |

Float mount with Japanese tissue and starch paste or use mylar corners or edge supports. Don''t'' allow contact between the art and the glazing, ever. Use another mount apx 1/2 inch outside the artwork edges or use a spacer. One could also scan and copy the originals. Frame and display the copy and store the originals out of light. |
