I have a customer that would like me to frame some magazine cartoons from World War II. She would like to have them floating on a white mat board and I do not know the best way to secure cartoon to mat board. I also do not know if the glass should be in direct contact with the cartoon. I do not want the ink transfering from the cartoon to the glass. I would appreicate any help. Thanks!

And use UV filtering acrylic or UV filtering glass, not standard glass.

Float mount with Japanese tissue and starch paste or use mylar corners or edge supports. Don''t'' allow contact between the art and the glazing, ever. Use another mount apx 1/2 inch outside the artwork edges or use a spacer. One could also scan and copy the originals. Frame and display the copy and store the originals out of light.
