A client told us that her business partner had all of his pieces in "fireproof framing". Apparently, this was done in the 1970''s or early 80''s. ANY idea what this could refer to?
Anyone ever heard of this?

  Fireproof? Probably not.

When exposed to a fire, the contents of a frame would probably be ruined by water, smoke, airborne chemical contaminants, or heat, if not by the flames directly.

In any case, if the framing has not been inspected & reconstructed since the 70s, chances are that whatever sealing provisions were constructed have failed by now.
