I have a needlepoint piece that measures 46 x 29 inches, it definately needs to be blocked for framing. Needlepoint board only comes in 40 x 32 inch board. Any ideas on what backing I can use to stretch it for framing?

Make a strainer, seal it with acrylic varnish. Cover the strainer with a thick archival board and 4 ply rag board. (I use a double wall archival corrugate board and Rising rag board.) Adhere them to the strainer with archival pva. Then cover the strainer with washed cotton or polyester fabric, stretched and fastened as if it were a canvas. Then stitch the needlework to this support.
